My local Car Club were looking for someone to redesign our Website. We were recommended Mel and after having a lengthy conversation over the telephone I decided to give Mel the opportunity to create something really special for us. With my limited knowledge I explained my ideas and Mel advised me what could be done, but in a much better way than I had suggested. She was very patient as I kept adding and changing ideas, but this was no problem for her. The final product was far better and beyond what I would have ever thought possible. I was also given some tuition as to how to use the site myself. Everthing done by Mel was in a very polite, patient and professional manner. Thank you Mel.
I needed a new website to showcase my business and contacted Mel. She listened to my ideas and created my vision for my website and I’m delighted with it. I would definitely recommend her!
I’ve been working with dev teams for over 20 years and my advice for people is to “work with people who are great at what they do”. Melanie is one of those individuals. Attentive, responsive and dynamic; everything you want in a Web Developer. Very impressed with Melanie and plan to send future projects to her.
It was an absolute delight to work with melanie to create our website. She was very creative, helpful approachable, and most importantly she was extremely patient with our limited knowledge. We would not hesitate to recommend her to others and we wish her every success in the future with her business.
You will be dealing with one individual from start to finish. Therefore the cost of your project will be far more affordable without compromising on quality. There will be no need to go through a support team to get something done!
You will need a web hosting provider and a registered domain name.
If you are unsure how to go about this I can talk you through the
process.
In essence, the web hosting provides you with an online space on the
World Wide Web and the domain name (a.k.a. URL) is the path to that
space (eg www.ladycornish.com). They can (and should) be bought from
and registered with the same provider. They are prerequisites to run
a website and must be in place as soon as the project moves from the
design phase in to development. *
The hosting package is one of the main factors for website speed so
it’s very important to choose wisely. I am happy to walk you through
this process. There are quite a few options out there but I can
personally recommend IONOS (1AND1). I have purchased several domain
names and hosted several websites with them for many years, business
& personal sites. If you would like to check them out please
or contact me for details.
* Web hosting and domain registration fees are paid directly to the
chosen provider. Clicking this raffiliate eferral link pays me a
small fee with no cost to yourself.
The honest answer here is - it depends. It depends on the style of
website you’re looking for as they will require different types of
functionality (informational, online shop, portfolio, etc). However,
I aim to (as far as possible) ensure
everyone
can afford a website, so please just get in touch!
An ideal way to get a quote is by sending me an email or a message
explaining what you have in mind and want to achieve with your
project. In most cases I'm able to provide an estimate straight
away.
The answer is virtually the same as for the question above. To give you an idea, very basic websites can take between 4 to 6 weeks and more complex ones 8 to 12 weeks. However this is just an average time frame, some may be quicker. It really does depend on what you have requested.
If you are looking to refresh an existing website, the ideal way of getting a quote and time frame is by sending me a "list of changes" you want to implement. Provide me with your website address and tell me what you like about your site and what you would like improved.
